ARTICLE I - NAME
The name of this organization shall be the Raleigh-Wake County
Dental Society.
ARTICLE
II - OBJECT
The object of this Society shall be to provide a forum for exchange
of ideas and knowledge for all dentists in the county; to stimulate
continuing education; to promote the highest professional standards
in the science of dentistry.
ARTICLE
III - MEMBERSHIP
The membership of the Society shall be composed of the following
classifications:
Active, Associate, Honorary, Inactive, and Life. The qualifications
for the various classifications of membership are found in Article
I of the By-Laws.
ARTICLE
IV - DUES
Section 1. The annual dues for all classes of membership shall
be prescribed in Article II of the By-Laws.
Section 2. The annual dues for the members of the Raleigh-Wake
County Dental Society shall be payable January 1st for the ensuing
calendar year.
Section 3. A member whose dues are not paid by March 1st shall
be suspended from membership, provided a final written notices
of dues due is sent to the member at least ten days prior to the
expiration of his membership.
ARTICLE
V - MEETINGS
Time and place of the meetings of this Society shall be determined
by the Executive Board, provided ten (10) days written notice
is given the membership by the Secretary prior to the said meeting.
ARTICLE
VI - OFFICERS
Section 1. The officers of this Society shall be the President,
President-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer, and Editor.
Section 2. The manner of election of these officers shall be determined
by Article VII of the By-Laws.
ARTICLE
VII - EXECUTIVE BOARD
The Executive Board shall be the governing body of the Raleigh-Wake
County Dental Society and shall transact all business of the Society
not otherwise provided for and shall consist of the following:
The officers of this Society, namely, the President, President-Elect,
Secretary, Treasurer, and Editor, the immediate past president,
and two members elected by the membership of the Society.
ARTICLE VIII - AMENDMENTS
The Constitution may be amended by a three-fourths majority vote
of the total active membership at any regular meeting, provided:
the proposed amendment has been made in writing and read to the
Society at any regular meeting; and that copies of the proposed
amendment be mailed to the membership by the Secretary thirty
(30) days prior to the time the vote is taken.
